Cannonball Creek Brewing Company continues massive 8-year streak and three medals

DENVER— The Great American Beer Festival competition drew in 8,806 entries from 1,720 breweries from across the U.S. Today the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) is proudly honoring the 26 medals awarded to Colorado breweries, 23 of which are craft breweries, at this year’s Great American Beer Festival (GABF).

“With everything going on in 2020, Colorado breweries were still able to show up and brew world class beer,” says Shawnee Adelson, Executive Director of the Colorado Brewers Guild.

This year’s awards ceremony was unlike past GABF awards ceremonies that included a packed room full of brewers and brewery representatives. Instead, the winners were announced via livestream on October 16. Below is a list of notable wins from Colorado Brewers Guild member breweries:

  • Since 2008 Dry Dock Brewing has consistently medaled at GABF except for 2018. This year, the Dry Dock adds to their collection and claims 26 awards over 13 years.

  • Since opening in 2013 Cannonball Creek has medaled at GABF. They continue their 8-year streak this year with a bronze medal for Vladimir Brutin in the Experimental India Pale Ale category, a bronze medal for Let’s Talk About Mex in the American-Style Cream Ale category and a gold medal for Featherweight Pale in the American-Style Pale Ale category. “As always, I am extremely proud of the caliber of beer that is made in Colorado. With the awards, we’ve shown that Colorado consistently brews high caliber beers.”
