Our Mutual Friend Brewing Announces March Beer Releases
RiNo brewery to release a Cold IPA, Mixed-Culture beers, and more, next month
DENVER— March is just around the corner, which means some exciting new beers from Our Mutual Friend Brewing (OMF). Next month the brewery will debut five new beers as well as welcome the return of a fan favorite that pays homage to Denver’s beer drinking scene.
Available Friday, March 4:
OMF debuts Solstice Cerasus, a Barrel-Fermented Mixed-Culture ale aged with Balaton cherries. Available in 500-milliliter bottles, this ruby colored 6.75% ABV beer has light acidity and funk, is slightly tannic and dry, and has a pleasant cherry aroma.
The Big Expense is an English-Style Barleywine collaboration with New Image Brewing. This 13% ABV beer has a darker hue and malt complexity from the rye and a silky mouthfeel from the wheat. This decadently smooth Barleywine has notes of chocolate, toffee, Oreo cream filling from the Tahitian Vanilla, and tantalizing aromas of vanilla and toffee. The Big Expense is available on draft and in four-pack 16-ounce cans.
Available Friday, March 25
Hitherto is another Mixed-Culture ale with raspberries, blackberries and Balaton cherries that were previously conditioned on Solstice Cerasus. This 6.5% ABV beer is available on draft and in four-pack 16-ounce cans.
Dream Burner is OMF’s first foray into a new style of beer called Cold IPA. Through visits to Wayfinder Brewing in Portland, Oregon, the first brewery to put out a Cold IPA, OMF was inspired to brew one of their own.
Managing Partner Brandon Proff hopes the style will stick around as he says it’s, “a mashup of the best characteristics of Pilsners and West Coast IPAs. Clean, crisp and hoppy—just don’t call it an IPL,” says Proff. This cross-over style ale will be available on draft and in four-pack 16-ounce cans.
Wicket Wit, OMF’s Belgian Wit packages for the first time. This 4.7% ABV Belgian Witbier is brewed with orange zest and will be available on draft and in four-pack 16-ounce cans.
OMF also welcomes the return of Larimer Street Lager, a 5.4% Helles that hits all the right notes.
“Helles is one of our favorite styles to drink and it pays tribute to our home in Denver, as well as the crazy beer-making history,” says Proff.
